Since initially meeting Zoe from Ascend Companions with a view to having a person help care for my elderly mum who was recently widowed, we couldn’t have asked for anyone more supportive, caring and understanding than Ascend Companions. It’s always a big step to seek support for your loved one and put your faith and trust into someone else who will care for them like you do. 

Working full time meant quality time with mum was compromised, and she felt lonely. Needing to take this step to overcome the loneliness- I reached out to Zoe. From the first message, Zoe was warm, friendly, and professional. She put my mind at ease and arranged a first meeting where we as a family could chat and ask questions. The warmth that radiated from Zoe was immediate. She listened to our concerns and health issues and asked about mums interests and hobbies. Mum felt reassured and comfortable, so we arranged for Zoe to start taking mum out once a week. 

The bond they have developed is so lovely, mum now can’t wait for her set day to be together at a garden centre, a shop, or just a gentle walk in a local beauty spot with an ice cream! It’s now the highlight of mums week - and we as a family can’t thank Zoe enough. Every week we receive a little report and photographs from their weekly adventure together. I’ve never seen mum smile so much since losing my dad. It has given her a zest for life back, as well as confidence.
